How Psychological Therapy Can Help
Taking some time to reflect, gain insight and clarity
I work collaboratively to assist people in developing skills to find resilience and approach life feeling more capable, self compassionate and connected. I have experience in treating people experiencing stress around relationship or interpersonal issues and life transitions, health concerns, self-doubt, depression, anxiety and overthinking, obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD), and difficulty regulating emotions. I use evidence-based therapeutic approaches appropriate to the individual client. These include acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), schema therapy, cognitive behaviour therapy (CBT), mindfulness and self-compassion based approaches, exposure and response prevention for OCD - (ERP), and aspects of dialectical behaviour therapy.
Treating OCD is a particular interest of mine. I'm passionate about using evidence based practice (ERP) to assist people with OCD (whatever the themes of the obsessions may be!).

I hope my clients feel understood and warmly supported, while at the same time having the opportunity to gain insight and clarity that may lead to meaningful and helpful change.

I look forward to a world in which it is no longer necessary to specify this, but please know I am a strong LGBTQIA+ ally!

I acknowledge the Traditional Owners of the land on which I live and work - the Gadigal people of the Eora Nation - and I pay my respects to Elders past, present and emerging. Sovereignty was never ceded.

Sessions, charges and rebates
Sessions
We can speak on the phone if you are interested in starting therapy. If an initial session is booked in, this is usually focused on gaining mutual understanding of the main presenting issues and how therapy may be of benefit. Following the initial session, weekly or bi-weekly sessions are usually the most beneficial way to work.
Cost and Medicare Rebates
Sessions (50 minutes) are charged at $240.00. If you have a referral letter from your GP and a Mental Health Care Plan (MHCP), it is possible to claim rebates of $136.35 from Medicare for a number of sessions (usually up to 10 per calendar year). Private health insurance may cover some of the session cost also.
